If Robot and Rider had to pin point an exact year when the decline of automobiles started it would point directly to the 2016 Hyundai Sonata. It is a car that is direct proof that humans have officially given up on life. It isn't quite the Sonata's fault that it is so bad. It really comes back to you (yes you the reader). You asked for cars to be less connected to the driver and to become more of an appliance. Well you certainly got it and I don't think you are going to like what the future has in store for you either.
The only thing in the 2016 Hyundai Sonata that worthy of mention is something that wasn't even built by Hyundai. It's the Android Auto - man it's good. Really, that's the only good thing about this car. The rest is completely and utterly forgettable. The engine can barely move the car, from the inside it could be just about any car on the market right now and from the outside it almost looks really sad. Like it knows it was the cause for the downturn of automobile enthusiasts.
The 2016 Hyundai Sonata cant do any one thing well. It is not fast. It can not corner well. Its heavy weight and small engine give it poor mpg. Its the jack of nothing, just like our current generation of kids. Can do lots of things but not really great at one thing. Always trying to please everyone and pleasing no one.
